home is where the art is

The goal was to update an existing, outdated and dark kitchen, gain more storage and counter space, without sacrificing an open and airy space and create more wall space for hanging artwork and children’s creations.

The process was to remove the wall separating the kitchen and dining room to create an open floor plan, add an island to provide additional storage and more counter space and casual seating, select updated woods with varying finishes and glass fronts for a lighter more open and contemporary feel, add recessed lighting throughout & pendant over table for accent and replace tile floor with wood to match adjacent flooring.

The outcome is a more open, well-lit, family-friendly environment with multiple spaces for seating & entertaining and a more open wall space for hanging “artwork.”
